Bring hope and resources to Haitian families amid multiple crises.

Still recovering from the effects of devastating natural disasters, including major earthquakes in 2010 and 2021 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016, Haiti is now in the midst of multiple emergencies — a deadly cholera outbreak, a growing food crisis, and alarming levels of gang violence.

After a 12-year epidemic ended last year, cholera cases are surging again as a result of limited access to healthcare and fuel shortages that have hampered water treatment efforts. The outbreak that began in the capital of Port-au-Prince has spread quickly, resulting in tens of thousands of hospitalizations and hundreds of confirmed deaths. On top of serious illness, the people of Haiti are among the most affected by the global food crisis: 4.7 million people (nearly half the population) are experiencing acute food insecurity and 1 in 5 children are so malnourished they’re at risk of death. Intensifying these issues is the escalation of gang violence throughout the country, with harrowing accounts of kidnappings, sexual assault, robberies, and assassinations. Since the 2021 killing of the Haitian president, gangs have been gaining ground, threatening agricultural production and even the government itself.  The parliament is no longer functioning and the justice system can barely operate under the heightened security risks.
