Where extreme poverty exists, pregnant women and young children are dying too often from preventable causes, simply because they lack access to basic health information, care, nutrition, and clean water. In 2024, more than 13,400 children under age 5 lost their lives, largely due to illnesses like diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria, birth complications, and other infectious diseases that can be prevented or treated.
You can help change this. By supporting essential health and nutrition services for children and their moms, you help protect lives starting with a healthy pregnancy. And because of public grants, your gift will be multiplied 5 times to expand prevention, treatment, and long-term care that saves lives.
Your gift will support:
-
Essential maternal, newborn, and child health care during the critical first 1,000 days, including prenatal, birth preparedness, and postnatal care for moms and newborns
-
Safe delivery of essential vaccinations, along with vitamin supplementation and deworming to protect children’s health
-
Community health workers trained and equipped to prevent, identify, and treat common childhood illnesses, including malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea, close to home
-
Prevention, detection, and treatment of infectious diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV, including care and support for orphans and vulnerable children
-
Nutrition support that improves infant and young child feeding, dietary diversity, and healthy behaviors through education, care groups, and mobile tools
-
Stronger community health systems, including referral networks that connect families to clinics and ensure continuity of care
-
Training and mobilization of faith leaders and community leaders to promote healthy behaviors, reduce stigma, and encourage use of essential health services
Our Commitment
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
