Each worker can serve as many as 50 households in their own community, offering life-saving health education about things like pregnancy and hygiene, delivering nutrition education and malnutrition monitoring for children, and providing in-home care like therapeutic feeding, rapid diagnosis of disease, and regular follow-up visits.
