World Vision believes that ending extreme poverty is possible, but it won’t happen as long as half the population is held back from reaching their full potential.
Women and girls living in poverty face significant barriers in every area of their lives. That’s why we focus on equipping and empowering women and girls in every aspect of our work.
With your support…
She can be born healthy when her mother is equipped to care for her. Through our mother and child health programs, community health workers bring vital information and support to moms and moms-to-be.
She can stay healthy and go to school when there’s clean water access near her home and school. World Vision is reaching one new person every 10 seconds and three more schools every day with clean water.
She can stay in class during her period when she has appropriate sanitation facilities for menstrual management. Through our WASH and education work, girls get access to safe, quality schools with latrines and private sanitary rooms.
She can marry when and whom she chooses when her community begins to turn away from harmful traditional practices like female genital mutilation and child marriage. Our child protection work gets to the roots of injustices for girls.
She can thrive when she gains access to savings groups and microloans. Our economic empowerment programs equip women with financial, farming, and business training that empowers them to succeed.
When given the chance, she can achieve. And when she does, she will share that success with her family – become a leader in her community – and use her voice, her strength, and her determination to make a difference.
Thank you for helping empower girls and women to create a stronger world for all.
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
