Join World Vision in bringing effective Malaria prevention and treatment to communities in Zambia.

Despite progress in the global fight against Malaria, the need remains urgent for the children, women, and men who still risk severe illness or death on a daily basis. Malaria is responsible for 50% of all infant deaths and 20% of all maternal deaths in Zambia.

Community health workers are key to the prevention and treatment of Malaria, serving their neighbors by providing vital health information and education to pregnant women and families with young children. Across Zambia, there is a shortage of these health workers, who typically are volunteers, working only for stipends. This project will help fill this gap.

World Vision is partnering with global humanitarian leaders and the Zambian government in an ambitious $6 million large-scale plan to reach 1.3 million Zambians and reduce Malaria by 90% in targeted communities by training and equipping 2,500 new community health workers.

Every $1 you invest becomes $3 of impact.

With your partnership, we can create a Malaria-Free Zambia.

“This program builds on what decades of experience has taught us: the power of community health workers to reach the most vulnerable in areas with little to no access to the healthcare system. We can’t overstate the value of investing in the recruitment and training of trusted community members to bring effective treatment of malaria to those who need it most.” – April McCoy, Program Quality and Impact Health Sector Director, World Vision U.S.

Our Commitment

At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.

The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
