Through RISE, youth are empowered with education, job training, and meaningful employment.
Youth in Central America’s Northern Triangle—Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador—are growing up with limited choices. Poverty, violence, and chronically limited job opportunities leave many searching for any work—or any way out. Many feel forced to migrate or turn to violence to find opportunity and belonging.
With RISE (Reaching Independence through Support and Empowerment)., we believe there is hope: hope for the youth, their families, and their communities.
By 2030, we aim to prepare 60,000 youth in the Northern Triangle for economic opportunities or find meaningful work.
RISE has a proven approach:
Youth Ready – Targeting 11,000 participants, Youth Ready equips youth with skills critical for success at work and in life. Participants choose one of three pathways: Education, Entrepreneurship, or Employment all leading to becoming better sons and daughters and engaged participants in their communities..
Teen Ready – Focused on in-school adolescents aged 12-17, Teen Ready aims to prevent dropout rates and increase motivation for learning through engaging activities such as art, sports, science, and technology.
At its core, RISE seeks to equip young people with the skills, training, and experience needed to thrive in both life and the workforce.
When you support RISE programs, you empower youth in the Northern Triangle with work readiness, life skills, improved mental health, mentoring, school programs, education, job training, interview skills, resume writing, further education, meaningful employment – all leading to becoming better sons and daughters and engaged participants in their communities.
Our Commitment
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
