Help us bring the life-saving gift of clean water to Zambia.

The global water crisis is one of the biggest public health crises of our day. Every day, more than 1,000 children under 5 die from diseases caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene practices. The daily walk for water is robbing women and girls of their futures. And growing droughts around the world are leading to malnutrition and death.

1 of every 11 people on the planet have no access to clean water. That’s 703 million people who lack basic drinking water access, with 115 million people still using surface water as their source. And of the 703 million people who are without access to clean water, more than half live in sub-Saharan Africa which is 408 million people. The global water crisis also disproportionately impacts women and girls, who spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day.

As a Christian, faith-based organization, World Vision is uniquely positioned to work with local religious leaders of all faiths as agents of change and advocates for the importance of clean water, improved sanitation, and healthy hygiene behaviors. In fact, 10,466 faith leaders participated in water, sanitation, and hygiene efforts in 2023. World Vision is also the leading nongovernmental provider of clean water in the developing world.

Every 10 seconds World Vision reaches one new person with clean water and hygiene education!

With your help, World Vision will finish the job in Zambia! Please prayerfully considering partnering with us in this life-saving work to reach everyone, everywhere we work by 2030.

“…I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” —Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

Our Commitment

At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.

The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
