Hunger. Drought. Conflict. These are the deadly forces that children and families throughout East Africa are facing.

Areas of Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, and Ethiopia are on the brink of catastrophe. 25 million people, our brothers and sisters, are at risk of starvation. Tens of thousands of children could starve to death because of food and water shortages.

In Somaliland, in the northeast corner of the African continent, years of sustained drought have led communities to the brink of starvation.

Traditionally pastoralists, they’ve watched their herds die, lacking any way to feed them. With their livelihoods gone, World Vision is working with these communities, living near the Gulf of Aden, to teach them how to fish. Now, their learning a trade that is providing them with food for their families and a renewed source of livelihood and income.

Your gift will save precious lives in these communities, and throughout East Africa, and help stop the further spread of the effects of drought. Please join us in making a difference in the lives of these people.
