Help bring clean water to rural health clinics in Niger.
Your gift to help bring clean water to rural health clinics in Niger will be matched*! This West African country ranks last of 189 countries on the Human Development Index. One of the biggest challenges in Niger is grossly inadequate healthcare. Where World Vision works, two out of three health clinics do not have clean water on the premises, and 96% of them do not have basic hygiene services. Can you imagine delivering a baby without clean water?
Aside from risks to mothers and newborns in the delivery room, improved water access, sanitation, and hygiene in health clinics is paramount to stopping the spread of COVID-19, among other deadly infectious diseases. Because of generous partners like you, World Vision is:
- bringing clean water, handwashing stations, toilets, and showers directly to health clinics
- training and equipping more Community Health Workers to educate and support pregnant women in their homes and diagnose and treat common deadly illnesses in their children
- offering additional training to existing health clinic staff
- delivering critical medical equipment and supplies
- mobilizing local faith leaders to reinforce key health messages
World Vision is a global leader in working with rural health clinics. In 2019, when the World Health Organization and UNICEF issued a global call to action to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in healthcare facilities, World Vision responded with a commitment larger than any other NGO with a goal of reaching 2,000 by 2023.
Will you help us reach desperate rural health clinics in Niger as part of this life-saving effort? Thanks to a generous donor partner, your gift to help bring clean water to rural health clinics in Niger will be matched*!
An investment of $125,000 will bring clean water and sanitation to a rural healthcare facility PLUS train and equip more community health workers. You will receive a report (typically within 12 – 15 months) on a specific healthcare facility that you have helped fund—including photos, GPS coordinates, and the number of people served.
*up to $2.5 million
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
