Powerful Hurricane Irma hit Florida and continued to wreak havoc for families along the coast as it traveled north. This is the second most powerful Atlantic hurricane recorded in history.
World Vision is responding to the needs of the most vulnerable families through our partnerships with local churches. With our expertise in disaster relief, and the churches deep understanding of their communities, we work together to equip them to provide for the unique needs of the people in Florida through each stage of recovery and rebuilding, starting with emergency supplies such as:
- Food and water
- Temporary shelter
- First aid supplies
- Hygiene kits with soap, shampoo, and diapers
- And more
We are also responding in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Please join us in prayer for everyone affected and know that your gift today will help provide urgent supplies, emergency aid and long-term recovery to the most vulnerable children and families in the worst-hit areas in Florida, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
90% of your donation will go directly to help those impacted by Hurricane Irma. Please know, after carefully managing all donations, we will report back on your impact.
Increase your impact even more by giving monthly or yearly to the Poverty in America Fund.
- You will be joining a special group of supporters who are the heart of our ministry. They help us to continue our crucial work and plan for the ever-changing needs of the vulnerable children and communities we serve.
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
