As the impact of COVID-19 continues to grow, your donation will help provide essentials both in the U.S. and abroad, like face masks and gloves for health workers; antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, and emergency food for children and families; and health training to keep everyone safe. World Vision has been responding on the ground since the beginning of the outbreak, meeting critical needs around the world. Today our staff are working to reach 72 million vulnerable people — including 36 million children — in 70 countries worldwide, including the U.S.
World Vision supports more than 220,000 community health workers around the world who are trained to deliver basic health services and are already on the front lines of the effort to respond to COVID-19 in their communities.
In addition, our experience has shown that trusted faith leaders can effectively lead their communities to slow the spread of diseases like COVID-19. Through our unique engagement model, we’ve equipped 400,000 faith leaders in over 50 countries to lead their communities’ response to disease outbreaks like Ebola, Zika, and HIV and AIDS. We continue to actively train these leaders to combat fear, stigma, and misinformation, and encourage healthy, high-impact behaviors like handwashing.
Here are some of the ways your donation can help make an impact:
- $75 can provide a Family Emergency Kit for a vulnerable family in the U.S., including a week’s worth of food for a family of five, hygiene and protective items, educational supplies and resources for kids, and other essentials.
- $41 can provide health training for a community or faith leader in a developing country, helping them quickly reach kids and families with tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- $26 can provide a family in a developing country with a two month’s supply of antibacterial soap.
When a crisis strikes, World Vision is there.
We respond immediately with life-saving help and supplies to support families as they recover and rebuild. World Vision is a leader in emergency relief, with decades of experience and an established network of staff ready to respond to any type of crisis, anywhere in the world.
Monthly giving: the simple way to make your donations do more. Give to the Disaster Relief Fund.
Monthly giving is the most effective way to help the children and families who need it most. It lowers costs and puts more of your money to work changing lives. Plus, your donations will be delivering the right solution at just the right time. And while your gifts are at work changing lives, you’ll get to see the power of your generosity through quarterly updates and the World Vision magazine.
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
