Every child deserves to feel safe.

World Vision believes that every child is a precious gift from God, and that all girls and boys deserve to be safe and secure. Yet every year, half of the world’s children experience some form of violence. And the children who live in extreme poverty are often the most at risk.

As a respected global leader in child protection, World Vision offers unparalleled reach, expertise, and influence to help communities become safer places for children. Because of our long-term presence in communities, we understand the unique dangers children face and can build the trust needed to work alongside children, their families, and local leaders to create safer environments.

Every day, 200 children complete life skill training courses facilitated by World Vision. The communication and leadership skills they gain help them to advocate for themselves and say “no” to child marriage, and “yes” to a future full of opportunity.

Your generous gift to support the Child Protection Fund will help us expand our work to prevent all forms of violence against children. We focus on building a protective environment for children, a safety net of interconnected elements designed to prevent harm and keep them safe.  Our multi-sector approach is designed to:

1. Empower children through education to know their rights and learn practical skills to protect themselves and one another.
2. Strengthen families with parenting skills and social and economic support so they can function as a first line of protection and care for children.
3. Mobilize faith leaders to leverage their influence and help change behaviors and end harmful cultural norms and practices.
4. Influence governments by working with local and national stakeholders to advocate for improved child protection laws.

These approaches are working thanks to the generosity of partners like you. In Kenya, youth who said they were “thriving” in life more than doubled between 2016 and 2019 in areas where World Vision worked.
