Safe environments for our children to play, learn and dream is the goal for parents everywhere.
Parents in Bangladesh want the same for their children, especially when protecting them from child labor. A child’s best chance to thrive is through supportive and loving families and communities.
Removing children from unsafe child labor and returning them to school is the primary goal for World Vision and for families in Bangladesh.
- Children are removed from hazardous labor including shrimp factories, machine shops and other small-scale industries.
- Conditional cash transfers are provided for families to offset lost wages from the child.
- Children receive catch-up education and reintegration into formal school settings or vocational training.
- Faith leaders are trained and serve as primary community leaders for lasting change of child labor interventions.
Loving and supportive communities can and will protect their children before child labor or any form of violence can happen to children.
A donation of $500 can provide vocational training and job placement for 2 young adults not able to re-enter school.
And a donation of $1,500 can provide training for 20 faith leaders to leverage their role in the community to stop child labor.
Your support will empower communities to create a safer environment for over 50,000 people and protect at risk children from exploitive labor as well as support the withdrawal of children currently suffering in abusive working conditions.
At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.
The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
