Give four soccer balls. Your gift of four soccer balls can replace a makeshift banana leaf ball or rounded wad of trash for an energetic boy or girl.
Children around the world love soccer more than any other sport. Yet many children in poverty have never played with a real toy — let alone an actual soccer ball. That’s because when basics like food and health care are scarce, there’s no money left over for simple pleasures. Instead, these children kick around plastic bags and old clothes tied with strings or old cords.
When the real soccer balls arrive, children like Amanuel from Ethiopia are overjoyed. “World Vision is just like a father,” says the 13-year-old, “[who] tries to make an individual achieve his dream.”
Soccer is Amanuel’s passion. “[It] is not only scoring a goal and entertaining yourself,” he explains. “It is beyond that for me. It is an art … it gives you an opportunity to get acquainted with new friends.”
Give four soccer balls today, and give children like Amanuel a chance to set their spirits free.
We promise to honor your generosity and use your donation in the most effective way possible. The needs shown in this catalog reflect World Vision projects at the time of writing and the suggested donation amounts are based on periodic surveys of the countries we serve. Each item is representative of the gift category in which it appears and donations will be used to provide assistance where it is needed most within that category or to address a similar need.
