When disaster strikes, World Vision is quick to respond with emergency relief, but our work does not end there. To meet the needs of the youngest survivors, World Vision establishes Child-Friendly Spaces in disaster-affected areas. These spaces provide a safe environment for children to learn, play, and emotionally recover from traumatic events.

Your gift of $100 will provide a child with a safe place to play for 3 months.

World Vision considers emotional support to be just as critical as physical assistance for children who have experienced disasters. Even simple activities like interacting with other children, processing their feelings, and experiencing structure can be an effective path to healing. In Child-Friendly Spaces, children receive psycho-social “first aid” through counselling and activities like playtime, music, and art. These spaces allow children to return to healthy routines and experience a sense of normalcy again. They provide a place for kids to be kids.

Please give to support Child-Friendly Spaces where children are most vulnerable.

Child-Friendly Spaces were an integral part of World Vision’s response after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan and they are helping traumatized refugee children recover from the ongoing crisis in Syria. Your gift today will help support World Vision Child-Friendly Spaces around the world, and will provide critical support to our disaster relief efforts.

At World Vision, stewardship is an integral part of everything we do. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, World Vision will redirect funds to similar activities to help children and families in need.

The multiplying effect from grants and donated goods may change throughout the year on identical or similar offers due to variations in the start and end dates of donor grants and our programs.
