Fantastic Moment of Emotion
Pierre Faye - Posted on April 27, 2009
A visit of a sponsor is a moment full of emotion. For the sponsor and the child, this is a tremendous opportunity of interaction. Pastor Douglas Dye, of Chapel by the Lake Juneau, in Alaska, has visited Tattaguine to meet his sponsored child, Fatoumata.
Pastor of the Church Chapel by the Lake Juneau, in Alaska, Douglas Dye is visiting Senegal for the first time. He started sponsoring Fatoumata last February. She is 9 years old and she is in the second grade.
During his first time in Senegal, he has the occasion to visit Tattaguine and see some the many projects of World Vision, mainly those financed by the Church partners of group he belongs to.
This let him know about Fatoumata’s village and the partnership they have with World Vision. He visited the drip-irrigation project and saw the three classrooms at the junior high school built thanks to their help.
Now, in presence of the chid supervisor, Gilbert Ndour, and one member of her family the sponsored child looking shy has seen his sponsor, full of emotion.
“When I go back to Alaska, I will remember who she is, her sweet smile and lovely expression. I will write letters and know who I am talking to. It’s fantastic to meet her family,” Pastor Dye says.
